Facts about Expanding Horizons Educational Field Trip Program
Vision: To create unique learning opportunities for local youth.

Mission: Provide a positive and nontraditional learning experience through educational field trips.

Motto: "Changing Lives, One Trip at a Time"

What do we do?
  • Local educational trips and programs
  • National educational trips

How are participants enrolled?
  • Faculty and staff from local schools select students
  • Parents/Guardians contact staff for registration information

Program Schedule:
  • One Saturday per month, October- April

Meeting Location:
  • The Atlanta Hawks Reading and Learning Zone and the Cabela's Learning Dock, both located at the Roberts School Community and Education Center

Transportation:
  • Cobb County Schools and Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resources Department Bus and Van​

Program Demographics:
  • Number of participants: 75
  • Grades: 4th- 12th
  • Schools: Acworth Intermediate, Barber Middle School, Awtrey Middle School, and North Cobb High School
Facts about Acworth Achievers Mentoring and After School Program
Vision: To create a positive and supportive environment for local youth.

Mission: Provide educational assistance, recreational activities, mentorship and foster servant leadership.

What do we do?
  • Mentor
  • Tutor
  • Service projects & community service
  • Guest speakers
  • College tours
  • A lot of FUN activities

2022 Program Schedule:
  • Tuesday's & Thursday's
    • ​4:00 - 6:00 PM

How are participants enrolled?
  • Faculty and staff from local schools select students
  • Parents/Guardians contact staff for registration information

Meeting Location:

Jordon Gonzalez
Program Coordinator

Jordon Gonzalez graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology - Applied Fitness and Active Lifestyle Development and a Master's Degree in Sport Management. Jordon has been with the Acworth Expanding Horizons program since 2019 and is passionate about providing life-changing experiences and opportunities for Acworth's youth.

Daulton Hill

Assistant Program Coordinator

Daulton graduated from Kennesaw State University with a B.S Sport Management in 2018. He was born and raised here in Acworth and has served the community in a variety of ways including athletic programs, camps, Horizon League, and active adult programs. He enjoys any sport, the outdoors, and traveling with his wife.
